Rabbi Yosef Menachem Appointed Chief Rabbi of Southern Command with Colonel Rank

Rabbi Yosef Menachem officially assumed the role of Chief Rabbi of the Israeli Southern Command on Thursday, replacing Rabbi David Haimov. The appointment ceremony was held in the presence of Southern Command Commander Major General Yaniv Asor and the Chief Military Rabbinate's Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief Rabbi of the IDF, Rabbi Shoham Orkabi. During the event, Rabbi Menachem was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel as he took on his new responsibilities. Previously, he served as the Chief Rabbi of the Personnel Directorate (Akh"a). The ceremony was attended by senior Southern Command officials, representatives of the Military Rabbinate, and family members.
