IDF Chief of Staff Declares Hamas Defeated to Netanyahu and Katz
Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi stated to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Benny Gantz that Hamas has been "defeated" and "overcome." Kochavi made these remarks during a security briefing for senior political officials earlier this month, while visiting the Gaza Division. The comments were made during a discussion where the head of Military Intelligence's Research Division, Brig. Gen. Ofir Mizrahi, presented the status of Hamas. Mizrahi noted, "We are identifying Hamas's desire to renew governance on the red line. We need to pay attention that Hamas is still a threatening organization."
