Israel's Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.7% in August, a figure slightly lower than anticipated but still marking a notable increase. The annual inflation rate remained stable at 1.5%, mirroring the August inflation rate from the previous year which was also similar. Significant price hikes were observed in fresh produce, transportation, housing, and culture and entertainment sectors. The housing price index specifically saw a rise of 0.2% during the month.
