British Airways and Iberia Express to Resume Flights to Israel

Two European airlines, British Airways and Iberia Express, are scheduled to resume flights to Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) in Tel Aviv starting October 25th. Both airlines suspended their operations in Israel following the outbreak of the war. Iberia Express will re-establish the air link between Tel Aviv and Madrid, while British Airways will restart its Tel Aviv-London route. These routes are considered significant for Israeli travelers, and their resumption is expected to increase the availability of direct flights from Israel.

The planned return of these airlines comes as the flight landscape at Ben Gurion Airport is gradually shifting. International carriers that halted operations are reassessing their return, with schedules for resuming various routes being updated. For the Madrid route, the restart addresses a relatively limited number of direct flights currently available from Israel to the Spanish capital.

In the case of London, El Al announced an increase in its flight frequency on this route earlier this week, and British Airways is now set to rejoin the service. The resumption date of October 25th is tentative and subject to change based on the evolving security situation or decisions made by the airlines. If the plans proceed as intended, passengers will once again have direct flight options to Madrid and London from late October.
