Central Elections Committee Begins Training 50,000 Polling Station Clerks

The Central Elections Committee has launched a national training program to prepare polling station clerks, who are crucial for the integrity and management of election day. The program began with approximately 2,750 participants trained in 110 classrooms nationwide. Overall, the initiative will involve around 200 professional instructors and is expected to utilize 2,000 classrooms across Israel until mid-October.

The training curriculum, developed by the committee's training department headed by Laura Nachum, combines theoretical learning with practical exercises. Participants will practice setting up a full polling station, handling all equipment and forms, and simulating the entire voting process from opening to closing.

Key training modules include the procedure for opening the polling station, vote counting, closing procedures, packaging ballots for transfer to regional committee centers, and emergency preparedness scenarios. Successful completion of a final certification exam is mandatory for all participants to be eligible for work as polling station clerks on election day, ensuring a high professional standard and public trust.
