Top Rabbis Decree Good Year for Donors to Orphan Fund

In a unique ceremony held during the High Holy Days, prominent rabbinic leaders established a "Court of Orphans" to support 58 orphaned brides and grooms marrying in the month of Tishrei. The court is headed by Rabbi Boruch Dov Povarsky, a senior Rosh Yeshiva, and includes Rabbi Moshe Ben Shimon and the Modzhitz Rebbe as judges.

This esteemed rabbinic court issued a special decree, stating, "We rule that there will be a good and sweet year for all donors." The message emphasizes that just as the court rules favorably for donors on earth, their judgment will be sealed favorably in heaven during the Days of Judgment.

The initiative aims to assist 58 orphans who are facing the financial burdens of marriage and establishing a new home. A symbolic donation of 580 shekels (approximately $160 USD) is requested per person, which breaks down to 10 shekels for each orphan. This contribution is intended to provide essential support as they embark on married life.

Rabbinic leaders highlighted that this decree is not merely a blessing but a binding ruling, intended to offer donors a tangible spiritual benefit during a time of divine judgment. The act of supporting orphans is presented as a reciprocal act, "measure for measure," promising the donor a year of abundance and well-being in return for helping these young couples build their lives in Israel.
