Thousands Attend Annual Selichot Service in Tirat Carmel

Thousands of residents of Tirat Carmel participated last week in the city's annual Selichot (penitential prayers) service. The event, held in the parking lot of the retail food center on Karmelim Street 3, was led by Rabbi Yigal Cohen. This free-entry event has become a moving urban tradition in the lead-up to the High Holy Days, drawing a large crowd for an evening of prayer, music, unity, and spiritual awakening.

During the service, singer Shilo Eliyahu performed, and Rabbi Yigal Cohen delivered a Torah lesson. The main Selichot service was led by Rabbi Asher Guetta, rabbi of the "Sha'agat Aryeh" institutions in Tirat Carmel. The event was attended by Mayor Dudu Cohen, Chairman of the Religious Council Rami Elmagor, rabbis, public figures, and thousands of city residents.

Mayor Dudu Cohen stated, "The Selichot evening is one of those special moments where we can see the strength of our community. Thousands of residents gather together in an atmosphere of faith, unity, and introspection ahead of the new year. I thank everyone who participated in producing this moving evening and wish all residents of Tirat Carmel a good year, a year of peace, health, unity, and good tidings."

The Tirat Carmel Municipality thanked all partners involved in organizing and ensuring the success of the event, including the Culture Department, the Security and Emergency Division, and the Religious Council, for their preparation, cooperation, and professional work that enabled the event to proceed smoothly.
