Israel's Education Ministry Clarifies Holiday Break Schedule
The Israeli Ministry of Education has released its official holiday schedule for the upcoming academic year, addressing parental and student inquiries regarding the days between the High Holidays. According to the updated calendar, there will be a full break, with no classes held, between Yom Kippur and Sukkot. This break will commence on Tuesday, Tishrei 11, and conclude on Thursday, Tishrei 13, 5787 (2026). Immediately following this period, the Sukkot holiday itself begins on the eve of Friday, Tishrei 14, and extends through Saturday, Tishrei 22.
The Ministry further clarified that the intermediate days of Sukkot, known as Chol HaMoed, are designated as full school days. Classes across all educational institutions are set to resume as normal on Sunday, Tishrei 23, 5787.
