Reality Star Sparks Outrage With Bare Midriff at Western Wall

Tirtza Cohen, a finalist on the Israeli reality show "HaAch HaGadol" (Big Brother), ignited a social media firestorm after posting a photo of herself at the Western Wall in Jerusalem with her stomach exposed. The 24-year-old, who grew up in Jerusalem's Jewish Quarter and reached the finals of the popular show in 2025, visited the holy site on Sunday, September 13, with her boyfriend, footballer Doron Leidner. Cohen, whose life and career have changed significantly since the show, wore a low-waisted skirt and a leather jacket, revealing her midriff. This attire, while stylish, was deemed inappropriate by many for a visit to a religious site.

Numerous social media users criticized Cohen's choice of clothing, with comments ranging from "You don't go to the Western Wall in a crop top" to "You came to a holy place and dressed for a flashy photo." Others questioned the appropriateness of her outfit for such a sacred location, despite acknowledging her beauty. She has been dating Doron Leidner for nine months.
