IDF Recruit Protests General's Policies at Military HQ

An unusual protest occurred at the Central Command base in Jerusalem when a military recruit demonstrated against administrative arrest orders. The soldier approached the office of Major General Avi Bluth, commander of the Central Command, holding signs criticizing the policy. One sign read, "Avi Bluth, Enough with administrative orders," while another stated, "Avi Bluth, Stop persecuting Tal Yinon Dardik."

The IDF called the police, who arrested the soldier and took him to the police station in Neve Yaakov. The soldier's lawyer, Daniel Shimshilashvili from the Honenu organization, intervened and secured his release shortly after.

The protest is linked to the case of Tal Yinon Dardik, who was arrested pending proceedings after repeatedly violating an administrative order issued against him by Major General Bluth. Dardik has declared his intention to resist the order, framing his struggle as opposition to administrative orders used against settlers in Judea and Samaria.

Shimshilashvili condemned the recruit's arrest, asserting that the soldier was exercising his right to protest. He argued that Bluth's actions toward Dardik were "outrageous and create protest," and that the police erred in arresting the recruit for expressing his dissent legally.
