Degel HaTorah Launches Election Preparations Amidst Leadership Changes

Degel HaTorah, a prominent Haredi political party, held a kickoff meeting on Monday in Bnei Brak to begin its preparations for the upcoming elections. The meeting, attended by the party's candidates and leadership, carried particular significance due to recent changes in the party's Knesset roster and the departure of senior lawmakers.

While new faces are expected to lead Degel HaTorah in the next Knesset, two veteran leaders, party chairman MK Moshe Gafni and board member MK Uri Maklev, were present, underscoring a blend of continuity and change. The candidates present included the newly appointed chairman MK Yaakov Asher, MK Yitzhak Pindrus, Moshe Rosenthal, Yehuda Weissfish, David Zaltz, David Ohana, and Eliyahu Brochi. Also in attendance were Yitzhak Reich, municipal department director Menachem Shapira, and party manager Moshe Shipman.

The gathering highlighted the party's transition, with a significantly reshuffled candidate list alongside the continued leadership of Gafni and Maklev in guiding the party's electoral strategy. Discussions focused on organizational and political preparations for the coming months, including mobilizing the party's grassroots.
