Bnei Sakhnin is expected to formally announce major management changes soon, marking what the club is presenting as a new era. According to a report first revealed by Sport Channel, Khaled Dookhi, who served for years as the club’s chief executive, will become chairman after Mohammed Abu Younis decided to step down after 15 years in the role.
Abu Younis will remain an authorized signatory, but Dookhi will be the main financial backer and will inject money to help the club clear the budgetary oversight process. The move comes as the Israeli Premier League administration has raised the minimum budget requirement to 18 million shekels.
Dookhi is set to work with head coach Yossi Abuksis, who is under contract for one more season and is currently on a private vacation. Sakhnin’s goal is to sign six foreign players, with Matheu Kodjo the only one expected to stay.
The changes are expected to be announced officially in the near future.
