Bnei Sakhnin is expected to formally announce major management changes soon. According to a report on Sport 5, longtime club CEO Khaled Dukhi will become chairman after Mohammed Abu Younes decided to step down from the role after 15 years.
Abu Younes will remain an authorized signatory, but Dukhi will be the main backer and will put in funds to help the club pass the financial fair-play review. The move comes as the Israeli Premier League management decided to raise the minimum budget requirement to 18 million shekels.
Dukhi will begin work alongside head coach Yossi Abukasis, who has one more season left on his contract and is currently on personal leave. Sakhnin's sporting goal is to sign six foreign players for the coming campaign.
Only Mathieu Kodjo is expected to stay from the current group of foreigners. The changes mark a significant shift for the club as it prepares for the new season.
