Bnei Sakhnin is undergoing a major management change, with chairman Mohammed Abu Younis set to leave the club after 15 years. Following lengthy talks between the sides, former CEO Khaled Doki is expected to step into the role and lead the club into the upcoming Premier League season.
Abu Younis had announced in recent months that he wanted to depart. Initial discussions were held with current CEO Yosef Badarna, but those talks failed to produce an agreement. Sakhnin mayor Mazen Gnaim then tried to build cooperation between Abu Younis and Doki, and after many rounds of talks, an agreement was reached Monday night at a meeting held at the club’s accountant’s office.
Under the arrangement, Doki will become the new chairman of Bnei Sakhnin and will also provide financial backing to the club. The move is significant because Abu Younis served in the post for many years, but he was determined to leave and has now completed his tenure.
On the sporting side, coach Yossi Abukasis and his staff will remain in place. Club preparations for the new season are being accelerated, a training camp has already been finalized, and attention is now focused on building the squad for the coming campaign.
