Bnei Sakhnin Pushes to Reunite Abu Younis and Dukhi in Leadership Bid
Bnei Sakhnin is quietly working on a leadership reunion between chairman Mohammed Abu Younis and former CEO Khaled Dukhi, while also trying to keep the current chairman in place and bring the ex-executive back to the club’s management. According to the report, people close to the club and the Sakhnin municipality are trying to bridge the gap so the two businessmen can guide the team next season.
Behind the scenes, coach Yossi Abuksis is also building for the coming campaign. One of his main priorities is signing a senior goalkeeper, and it is still unclear what that would mean for Mohammed Abu Nil, who has been Sakhnin’s keeper for the past two years.
The club has already set a training camp, ordered new kits and activated the contract options for Alon Azugi and Mohammed Ganameh for the upcoming season. It is also in talks with additional players as preparations continue.
At the same time, the club’s public leadership remains unsettled. Abu Younis said he is leaving for good and asked Sakhnin mayor Mazen Gnaim to find a replacement, but no solution has been found after talks with current CEO Youssef Bedrana collapsed. There is also pressure on Mohammed Abu Younis, whose money is registered with the budget control authority, to stay on for another season. Dukhi has so far refused to comment.
