Bnei Sakhnin announced on Saturday that Mohammed Abu Younis is stepping down after 15 years as club chairman, and former long-time CEO Khaled Douki will take over the role. In its statement, Bnei Sakhnin said Douki will lead the club and continue working to advance it, strengthen it and drive success across all areas. It also said Douki expressed deep appreciation to Abu Younis and thanked him for his “significant contribution, dedication and unwavering commitment” over the years.
The club paid tribute to Abu Younis, saying he made major efforts to strengthen Bnei Sakhnin’s standing in Israeli football, maintain its financial and managerial stability, and promote the values of sport, tolerance, coexistence and social responsibility. It added that it wishes him good health and success in whatever he chooses to do next.
