Tel Aviv Derby Halted Briefly Due to Flares
The Tel Aviv derby between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv was temporarily suspended in the second minute of play due to fans igniting flares in the stands. Referee David Foxman halted the match, a home game for Maccabi, because the smoke created poor visibility on the field.
The game resumed approximately five minutes later after Foxman gave the go-ahead. The smoke had cleared, improving visibility to a level where play could safely continue.
