Rosh Hashanah begins on Friday, September 11, and the holiday period, during which no games can be played, extends through Sunday, September 13. Therefore, league matches are expected to resume on Sunday, September 13. One such match will feature Hapoel Be'er Sheva against Hapoel Petah Tikva, as Be'er Sheva is scheduled to play its first Europa League match against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday, September 16.

Many fans have inquired about the derby date, seeking to plan travel around the holiday. The September 14 date allows fans to travel for the holiday and return in time for the derby. The league management will also need to schedule matches before Saturday in the week following Rosh Hashanah, as Yom Kippur falls on Sunday and Monday, September 27 and 28, making games impossible on those days.
