Veteran Defender Orel Dagani Signs Two-Year Deal With MS Ashdod
Veteran central defender Orel Dagani has officially signed a two-year contract with MS Ashdod, the club announced on September 26, 2014. Dagani joins Ashdod from Hapoel Petah Tikva, where he was a key player in their successful promotion to the top league playoffs last season. He will reportedly earn double his previous salary.
Dagani brings a wealth of experience to Ashdod, having made 21 appearances for the Israeli national team and over 400 league appearances for various Premier League clubs, including Maccabi Netanya, Beitar Jerusalem, Maccabi Haifa, Hapoel Tel Aviv, and Hapoel Haifa. He will wear the number 25 for his new team.
"I am very happy to come to Ashdod and start a new challenge in my career," Dagani stated after signing. "I will contribute my experience so that at the end of the season we will achieve our goal and return the club to the Premier League."
MS Ashdod competes in the second-tier National League, and Dagani's signing is seen as a significant reinforcement aimed at achieving promotion back to the top flight.
