Asian Street Food Chain Asiatiko Plans National Expansion
The Asian street food chain Asiatiko, currently operating two restaurants in northern Israel, is embarking on a significant expansion plan. The chain, known for its customizable wok dishes, noodles, and other Asian specialties, is investing approximately NIS 2 million in rebranding and upgrading its existing locations in Haifa and Kiryat Motzkin. This marks the first phase of a growth strategy that aims to establish Asiatiko as a national chain.
The company plans to open about six additional franchised branches within the next year, with an estimated total investment of NIS 7.5 million. Each new branch is projected to cost around NIS 1.2 million to establish. Asiatiko's ultimate goal is to have 10 branches across Israel by the end of 2027.
Asiatiko is owned by the Fooders Group, which also owns the "Me Ma Mo" hamburger chain. The group has been developing Asiatiko for over a year, in collaboration with entrepreneur and restaurateur Shiran Turgeman. This expansion comes at a time when many restaurant chains are focusing on company-owned stores or scaling back growth plans.
Fooders Group is betting on the franchise model for rapid, controlled growth while maintaining high operational standards, citing the success of their "Me Ma Mo" chain, which is expected to reach 12 branches by year-end. "Asiatiko is a brand with significant growth potential," said Yahav Almog, Director of Network Development at Fooders Group. "We believe in the Asian food market and the brand's ability to grow from a regional player into a leading national chain. The investment in rebranding and developing the franchise system is part of our growth strategy for the coming years."
