Israeli Fire Kills One, Wounds Six in Gaza's Rafah and Khan Younis
One person was killed and six others were injured, one critically, by Israeli fire in Rafah and Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. Palestinian news sources reported that a fatality occurred in the Al-Mawasi area west of Rafah. In Khan Younis, six individuals, mostly children, were wounded when Israeli forces allegedly shelled a tent in the Atfal camp near "Baraks Al-Samri" west of the city. The injured were transported to Nasser Medical Hospital.
The Gaza Ministry of Health stated on Monday that two people were killed and 25 others injured by Israeli fire in the preceding 24 hours. This brings the total number of casualties from alleged Israeli violations since October 11, 2025, to 1,372 killed and 4,659 injured, with 831 bodies recovered. The ministry also reported that the death toll from the conflict since October 7, 2023, has reached 73,786 killed and 174,771 injured, with many victims still trapped under rubble and inaccessible to emergency services.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Health announced a halt in transportation services for medical personnel, warning of an imminent collapse of the health system. A statement indicated that the disruption poses a direct threat to healthcare services, as doctors, nurses, and technicians are unable to reach their workplaces. The ministry highlighted that the lack of public transportation and the high cost of individual travel make it impossible for staff to commute consistently.
The Ministry of Health appealed to international institutions, relevant authorities, and humanitarian organizations for immediate intervention to provide fuel, spare parts, and oil to resume the operation of the medical transport fleet. The ministry described the neglect of basic operational needs for the health system as a "direct death sentence" for citizen healthcare.
