Israeli Fire Kills Palestinian, Wounds Others in Gaza
Israeli forces continued to violate the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, marking the 334th consecutive day of breaches amid an ongoing blockade. These actions have exacerbated the suffering of civilians and displaced persons, resulting in further casualties and destruction.
Palestinian medical sources reported that one Palestinian was killed and others were wounded in various areas of Gaza due to Israeli gunfire and shelling. The Nasser Medical Complex announced the death of two Palestinians in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. One was identified as former prisoner Ramzi Abu Rida, who succumbed to serious injuries sustained days earlier from an Israeli strike in the Mawasi Khan Younis area. The Palestinian Civil Defense reported a displaced person was injured by Israeli military vehicles in the same area, with local sources describing intense tank fire towards southern Mawasi.
In northern Gaza, a Palestinian was wounded by Israeli forces near the Al-Falouja cemetery and received treatment in a Gaza City hospital. In central Gaza, Israeli forces conducted a large demolition operation southeast of Deir al-Balah, accompanied by renewed artillery shelling on the city's eastern areas. Israeli artillery also shelled areas south of Khan Younis, following earlier strikes overnight and at dawn.
Residents reported heavy Israeli artillery shelling and gunfire from military vehicles in eastern Deir al-Balah. Israeli naval vessels fired in northwest Gaza, and artillery shelled eastern Gaza City. In Rafah, the Al-Shakoush area in the northwest of the city experienced intense fire from Israeli military vehicles early Tuesday.
These incidents occur against the backdrop of ongoing Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement, which went into effect in October 2025, following the sustained Israeli military campaign in Gaza that began on October 7, 2023. The violations persist despite a "new agreement" announced by U.S. President Donald Trump on July 31, 2026, to initiate the second phase of a "road map" for Gaza.
