Senior Police Officer Injured in Accidental Shooting at Lahav 433 Headquarters
A senior officer serving as head of a division within Lahav 433, the Israel National Police's unit for combating serious and international crime, was lightly injured on Monday morning when his personal firearm discharged accidentally. The incident occurred around 9:00 AM in one of the unit's offices in Lod.
Emergency medical services were called to the scene and provided initial treatment to the officer before transporting him to Sheba Medical Center at Tel HaShomer in light condition. The Israel Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
According to a police statement, the officer sustained a minor injury from the accidental discharge. In accordance with standard procedure, the incident has been reported to the Police Internal Investigations Department (Mahash), and an investigating officer will be appointed upon their approval.
