Ashkelon Man Charged with Hacking, Recording Minors Nude
Prosecutors have filed an indictment against a 44-year-old resident of Ashkelon accused of infecting hundreds of computers at dozens of companies and private entities with malware since 2020. The indictment alleges that the defendant conducted thousands of screen captures and recordings, took control of computer cameras and listening capabilities, and recorded video of victims at their workplaces and private homes. He also allegedly downloaded files, extracted passwords, and obtained credit card details.
In addition to the corporate espionage and data theft, the accused is also charged with recording minors in a state of nudity. The cumulative economic damage to the companies is estimated at over two million shekels (approximately $540,000 USD).
The investigation began following a complaint and subsequent police operation. The suspect was arrested and his computer equipment was seized. The indictment includes charges of computer hacking, privacy invasion, and offenses related to child pornography.
