Maccabi Netanya Signs Olivier Vardan, Former Ludogorets Defender
Israeli soccer club Maccabi Netanya has officially signed Olivier Vardan, a 30-year-old central defender from Benin, formerly of Bulgarian club Ludogorets. Vardan joins the "Diamonds" on a two-year contract.
The signing comes shortly after Maccabi Netanya's defender Saba Khvadagiani suffered a severe anterior cruciate ligament tear, his second such injury. Vardan brings significant experience, having made 243 appearances for Ludogorets and was part of the squad that faced Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Europa League recently. Last season, he played 22 league games and 10 Europa League matches, scoring five goals across all competitions.
