IDF Targets Hezbollah Infrastructure in Southern Lebanon Town

Following the destruction of infrastructure on the Al-Taher ridge, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are focusing on clearing the town of Al-Mansouri in southern Lebanon, located on the route to the city of Tyre. This area is considered one of the few built-up regions in the vicinity, and the IDF estimates that Hezbollah will attempt to launch terror operations from it. The IDF states that Al-Mansouri lies within the 'blue line' demarcated by Israel, though it has not yet been fully cleared. The town, a Shiite village whose residents evacuated and have not returned, is the northernmost town under Israeli security control. Hezbollah is expected to try and re-infiltrate the town to conduct terror attacks against IDF forces in Majdal Zoun and the western sector of Israel's security zone.

The 55th Reserve Paratroopers Brigade, under Division 91, has been systematically operating in the Al-Mansouri area for weeks. The Lebanese press reported that the Israeli Air Force attacked buildings in the town on Monday, with strikes occurring one to three times daily, often targeting structures identified by the IDF as booby-trapped or strategically significant for observation and fire control. Concurrently, engineering corps forces, supported by armor and reserve paratroopers, are working within the town's outskirts to clear the area and demolish Hezbollah infrastructure.

Topographically, Al-Mansouri is situated on a lower ridge than Majdal Zoun but provides access from Tyre southward. The IDF believes Hezbollah intended to establish a presence there to launch operations against Israeli forces in southern Lebanon. However, the IDF acted preemptively to thwart these plans, currently engaging the town to prevent Hezbollah from realizing its objectives. The IDF emphasizes that operations within Al-Mansouri are part of the security shaping of the area up to the blue line.
