IDF Completes Operation to Clear Hezbollah Underground Infrastructure in Southern Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the completion of an operation to clear Hezbollah's underground infrastructure in the Al-Taher mountain range in southern Lebanon. Forces from the 36th Division have achieved operational control both above and below ground in the area.

During the operation, soldiers discovered command centers, living quarters, and kitchens within the tunnels, which were used by Hezbollah's "Badr" unit. The infrastructure, built over two decades with Iranian funding and planning, served as a strategic asset for the organization.

The IDF stated that the cleared tunnels were used by militants to manage fire systems and carry out terror attacks against Israeli civilians and security forces over the years. The infrastructure was reportedly used continuously by Hezbollah during recent military operations, including "Arrow of the North" and "Lion's Roar."

Following the operation, the IDF is working to neutralize the discovered infrastructure. The military emphasized its commitment to the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon but warned that any attempts by Hezbollah to advance terror plans would be met with a strong response. The IDF will reassess its defensive posture in the region after the operation concludes.
