Netanyahu's Likud Party Disputes Kushner's Account of Hamas Deal

A dispute has emerged between Jared Kushner, former President Trump's son-in-law, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the events that led Hamas to accept a U.S.-brokered deal. Kushner stated in an interview that a failed Israeli military operation in Doha, which missed senior Hamas officials, created an opportunity for Trump to pressure Netanyahu into accepting a deal he was initially hesitant about. This operation reportedly resulted in five deaths, according to Qatari reports.

In response to Kushner's account, Netanyahu's Likud party presented a contrasting narrative. The party asserted that it was Hamas that "folded" following the Israeli operation. According to the Likud, Prime Minister Netanyahu's decision to deploy the IDF into Gaza City and target Hamas leadership in Qatar, combined with significant pressure from President Trump, compelled Hamas to drop its demands and agree to release all remaining hostages in Gaza.
