Couple Welcomes Baby After Difficult Pregnancy and Stillbirth

A Jerusalem couple, Bat-El and Or, welcomed their first child, a daughter, on the eve of Rosh Hashanah at Shaare Zedek Medical Center. The baby was born at 37 weeks gestation, weighing 2.270 kilograms. This joyous birth comes two years after the couple experienced a difficult stillbirth during their first pregnancy.

Due to her medical history, Bat-El's current pregnancy was classified as high-risk and closely monitored. She was hospitalized in the high-risk pregnancy unit a week prior to delivery. Multiple medical teams provided her with professional and supportive care throughout her hospitalization and the delivery process, enabling her to achieve her wish for a natural birth.

Bat-El expressed her gratitude, stating, "I want to thank all the teams who accompanied me and gave me the most professional and supportive environment. They fulfilled my dream of becoming a mother after we went through such a shaking and difficult experience two years ago. Holding our sweet baby girl in our hands, as the New Year begins, is the most exciting thing we could have experienced."

Shaare Zedek Medical Center reported a busy holiday period, with a total of 91 newborns born between the eve of Rosh Hashanah and its conclusion. Of these, 50 were boys and 41 were girls.
