Israel Reports Negative Ebola Test for Suspected Case
The Israeli Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday that tests conducted on a patient suspected of having Ebola have come back negative. The suspicion arose after the individual returned from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Tests were performed according to professional protocols and international guidelines for high-risk infectious diseases. The Ministry of Health emphasized that no confirmed cases of Ebola have been diagnosed in Israel to date.
Ebola is not airborne and spreads through direct contact with an infected person exhibiting symptoms, or through contact with their blood, bodily fluids, or secretions. The Ministry stated it will continue to update the public and medical teams as necessary.
