Israel's UN Envoy Sounds Shofar in General Assembly Hall

Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, along with Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Neiman, a representative of the Chabad movement to the diplomatic community, recorded a New Year's greeting video in the UN General Assembly Hall. The video, filmed ahead of Rosh Hashanah, features the sound of the shofar being blown within the hall.

Rabbi Neiman spoke in the video about the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, emphasizing the significance of bringing light into a place often characterized by darkness and falsehood. He stated, "As the Rebbe taught us, in the 'house of darkness and lies,' one must light a candle of truth that will illuminate the entire place."

The footage shows Danon and Rabbi Neiman in the General Assembly Hall, alongside their Rosh Hashanah greeting. The sound of the shofar blowing inside the hall is audible in the recording.
