Israeli Border Police Officer Found Dead After Haifa Beach Search

The body of Itai Parson, a member of Israel's elite Yamam counter-terrorism unit, was recovered on Haifa's beaches after an extensive search operation. Parson had been missing since the start of the Rosh Hashanah holiday. The search involved police, marine police, volunteers, and military forces. His death has caused significant grief in Haifa and within the security establishment, marking one of the main events of the holiday period.
