Kushner Reveals US Leveraged Israel's Doha Attack Isolation for Deal

Jared Kushner, former senior advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump, has offered a behind-the-scenes account of diplomatic efforts surrounding the Gaza war, detailing how the U.S. exploited Israel's international isolation following a failed operation in Doha, Qatar. In an interview with Clash Report, Kushner described the September 9, 2025, Israeli airstrike, codenamed "Operation Fire Summit," targeting Hamas leaders in Doha, as a "terrible thing" and a "military failure."

Kushner stated that the strike led to Israel becoming globally isolated, a vulnerability the U.S. administration recognized and utilized. "We used this dynamic to push them toward a deal," he explained, acknowledging that Israeli leadership was initially uncomfortable with the U.S. pressure. "At the time, they felt a certain discomfort with what we were pushing them to do."

Despite initial Israeli reservations, Kushner asserted that the resulting deal ultimately proved beneficial for all parties. "In the end, it turned out to be a great thing for them (Israel), and today they are very pleased with it," he concluded. He also suggested the agreement was advantageous for the Palestinian population in Gaza.

The "Operation Fire Summit" strike occurred while Hamas leaders were reportedly discussing an American proposal for a ceasefire and hostage release agreement.
