Three Arab Israelis Found Dead in Burned Car Near Jatt

Three young Arab Israeli men, identified as brothers Zein and Qassem Odeh, aged 16 and 19, and their 22-year-old cousin Yahya Bassi from Jaljulia, were discovered deceased inside a burning car early Sunday morning. The vehicle was found in an open area near Jatt, in the Sharon region, approximately 36 kilometers from their hometown. Authorities suspect the men were shot and killed before the car was set ablaze. The investigation is being led by the Coastal District Police, and no arrests have been reported thus far.

Magen David Adom paramedics described arriving at the scene to find a car engulfed in flames. After the fire was extinguished, they discovered three unconscious men inside, showing no signs of life, and were forced to declare them dead at the scene.

The mayor of Jaljulia, Ra'avi Darwish, expressed deep sorrow over the incident, stating, "A cloud of sorrow has descended upon the city. We heard about the event with great sadness. We don't know what happened." He criticized the government's response to escalating violence within the Arab community, urging immediate action against "murderous crime." This incident brings the number of Arab Israelis murdered in 2026 to 176, a slight decrease compared to 179 during the same period last year, according to the Abraham Initiatives organization.
