Northern Israel Nature Reserve Evacuated Due to Rosh Hashanah Fire
On September 13, the final day of the Rosh Hashanah holiday, a forest fire broke out in the Tel Dan Nature Reserve, located in the Galilee Panhandle of northern Israel. All visitors were evacuated from the hiking trails, according to the Nature and Parks Authority. Authority inspectors are involved in fighting the blaze, and assistance has been requested from the Israel Fire and Rescue Services. The Tel Dan Nature Reserve is situated in northern Israel at the foot of Mount Hermon, near Kibbutz Dan and Kiryat Shmona. It is home to the Dan River, one of the main sources of the Jordan River, and the ruins of the ancient city of Dan.
