Israel Accuses UN of Misrepresenting Jewish Children as Palestinian Refugees

Israel's Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, has accused the United Nations of misrepresenting Jewish children as Palestinian refugees in an exhibit at UN headquarters in New York. The exhibit, titled "The Question of Palestine and the United Nations," has been in place for years and presents the Israeli-Palestinian conflict from a Palestinian perspective.

Danon noticed an archival photograph on display that shows children and adults near a UN vehicle. The caption states, "UN observers and the UN flag became well known to the children of Palestine from the late 1940s." However, the UN did not identify the individuals in the photo or provide context about its origin.

Danon believes the photograph was taken during the establishment of the State of Israel and suspects the children are Jewish. He has appealed to the public for help in identifying the people in the image, posting a video on September 13th asking, "The UN presented Jewish children as Palestinian refugees. Help us reveal the truth. Do you recognize any of the children in the photo? Write his name in the comments and tag those who can help us reach him."

The Israeli diplomat aims to find the subjects of the photograph or their relatives to establish the image's true provenance. Danon stated, "If you recognize any of the children in the photograph, contact us. We will establish the facts and demand that the UN present the public with the full and accurate story."
