Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, attacked the UN after swastikas were found in yearbooks at the organization’s school in New York. He said the incident showed that antisemitism is still surfacing even inside institutions linked to the UN.
Danon criticized what he described as endless UN discussions about tolerance and fighting hatred, arguing that the organization cannot credibly oppose racism while failing to confront anti-Jewish hatred. In his words, “Whoever is willing to condemn every form of hate except hatred of Jews is not part of the solution, he is part of the problem.”
The statement came in response to the publication of the Nazi symbols in school yearbooks, which Danon used to accuse the UN of tolerating antisemitism within its own environment. He did not cite any further measures or response from the UN in the article.
