Israel Strikes Gaza's North and South Amid Ceasefire Violations

Local sources reported that Israeli artillery shelled areas south of Khan Younis on Monday, accompanied by heavy gunfire from military vehicles southwest of the city. Simultaneously, Israeli tanks fired intensely towards the eastern areas of Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip. In Gaza City, Israeli naval vessels fired at the coast, continuing what Palestinian sources describe as violations against land and sea areas since the current truce began.

These developments follow an incident on Saturday where nine Palestinians were injured by an Israeli drone strike on a civilian gathering near a tent sheltering displaced people in the Mawasi Khan Younis area. That same day, artillery shelling targeted areas east of the Bureij camp, Gaza City, and the Jabalia camp, while fishermen off the Gaza coast faced gunfire.

Palestinian sources accuse Israel of continuing to violate the terms of the ceasefire, which has been in effect since October 2025, by targeting civilians and residential areas. Since the start of the war on October 8, 2023, Palestinian casualties have exceeded 73,000 dead and 174,000 injured, with approximately 90% of the Gaza Strip's infrastructure reportedly destroyed, exacerbating the dire humanitarian and living conditions.

The ongoing shelling and gunfire occur while the truce faces repeated challenges. Warnings have been issued that continued violations could threaten the agreement's stability and lead to renewed military escalation in the Gaza Strip.
