Israel Secures Three Medals at World Junior Water Ski Championships

Israel has achieved a strong start to the new year at the World Junior Water Ski Championships in the Netherlands, securing three medals. Yam Lev won a silver medal in the senior slalom competition, while Moshiko Tzadka earned a bronze in the same event. Eliav Shemer added another bronze medal in the under-19 slalom category.

Lev's silver medal performance in the senior final involved completing three buoys at a speed of 58 km/h with a rope length of 9.75 meters. Tzadka, a more experienced competitor, secured his bronze by completing five buoys at 58 km/h with a 10.25-meter rope. Shemer's under-19 bronze was achieved with 2.25 buoys at 58 km/h and a 11.25-meter rope.

Another Israeli competitor, Gregory Dovjevitch, finished seventh in the under-19 slalom final. The Israeli delegation is not yet finished, with Olga Trabkina competing in the women's tricks final and Liza Dovjevitch in the women's jump final on Sunday, aiming to add to Israel's medal count.

Ma'oz Tal, CEO of the Israel Water Ski Association, expressed his delight, stating, "Two medals, silver and bronze, at the senior World Championships and another medal under 19, we couldn't have asked for more." He highlighted the exceptional performance of the Israeli team, noting their consistent dominance in global slalom over the past decade. Arik Kaplan, President and CEO of the "Elite" Association for Non-Olympic Sports, echoed this sentiment, calling the medals "a wonderful gift for the holiday" and expressing pride in the entire delegation.
