Maccabi Haifa Offered Suriname National Team Defender
Israeli football club Maccabi Haifa has been offered the services of Suriname national team left-back Calvin Verdonk, who is not in the plans of his current club, Antalyaspor. The 29-year-old defender has a notable career path, having developed in the youth system of PSV Eindhoven and begun his professional career with the Dutch club. He subsequently played for Zwolle, accumulating five seasons in the top Dutch league.
In the summer of 2022, Verdonk moved to Queens Park Rangers in the English Championship, where he completed three full seasons. Last season, he joined Turkish club Antalyaspor, making 34 league appearances and receiving four yellow cards. Verdonk has also earned 23 caps for the Suriname national team and participated in their recent World Cup qualifying campaign.
