Yaron Avraham blasts JD Vance over remarks on Iran's self-defense
Channel 12 political correspondent Yaron Avraham sharply attacked U.S. Vice President JD Vance after Vance made comments that Avraham said misled the Israeli public. Avraham wrote, "God help us, what have we come to," in response to what he described as messages coming out of Washington.
Avraham objected to Vance's claim that Iran would receive nothing in any agreement until it made concessions. "That is not true," Avraham said, accusing the vice president of selling Israelis a false story.
The criticism followed Vance’s remarks backing what he called Iran’s right to self-defense. Vance said that right also includes keeping a ballistic missile arsenal. He compared Iran’s position to Israel’s, saying Israel does not give up its right to self-defense if Hezbollah fires rockets or drones at it, and adding, "The Iranians do not give up their right to self-defense in their country."
