Israeli commentator Yinon Magal sharply criticized a developing agreement between the United States and Iran, responding to attacks from U.S. Vice President JD Vance. Magal said Vance accused him of adopting Iranian propaganda and of wanting an "endless war," arguments he dismissed as familiar talking points from Israel’s peace camp. He said Iran had been brought "to its knees" through joint U.S.-Israeli pressure, but that it had now pushed the U.S. down instead, which is why he opposes the deal.
Speaking about the Trump administration team, Magal said, "We love you, we love Trump, we went together," but added that he did not understand what had happened with Vance, envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner. He said he had already advised them to read the biblical passage about Mordechai and Queen Esther, and warned, "Do not think you will escape from here."
Addressing Vance directly, Magal said he understood that the vice president is looking out for America, which is his job, but insisted that "the agreement is a disgrace." He added that he hoped Israel would not end up paying the price for whatever the Americans were about to sign.
