Rockstar Games has ended months of speculation by announcing that preorders for Grand Theft Auto VI, or GTA 6, will open worldwide on Tuesday, June 25. The company made the announcement in a short video on its YouTube channel. It did not show any new gameplay footage, but it gave fans the technical details they had been waiting for.
The announcement also effectively locks in the game's official launch date, which is set for November 19. Preorders will begin in digital stores and in selected physical retailers, and the company is expected to reveal the full price of the title when sales pages go live.
For gamers, the news is especially significant after a long series of delays surrounding the project. GTA 6 follows the previous game in the series, which came out in 2013, and the wider gaming industry is now focused on next week in hopes of learning the first details about the game's new features.
