Lebanese Army Chief Rules Out New Talks With Israel
Lebanese Army Commander Joseph Aoun stated on Saturday that there are currently no new negotiations underway with Israel. During a visit to Nabatieh, Aoun emphasized that Lebanon's national constants include the withdrawal of Israeli forces, the return of prisoners and displaced persons, and reconstruction.
Aoun explained that the purpose of his visit to Nabatieh was to understand the needs and demands of the citizens. He reiterated that the commitment to withdrawal, the return of prisoners and displaced people, and reconstruction are national priorities that Lebanon pledges to implement.
He stressed that Lebanon's positions are clear, prioritizing the cessation of the Israeli occupation and the repatriation of those displaced or held captive, alongside rebuilding efforts.
