Hidden Hard Drives Reveal Dozens of Child Sex Abuse Images

Authorities in Israel have arrested a high-risk sex offender after discovering dozens of images and videos depicting child sexual abuse on two hard drives found hidden in his closet. The discovery was made during a search of the man's home in southern Israel by officers from the "Tzur" unit of the Prison Service's (IPS) Alternatives to Imprisonment and Supervision Division. The hard drives were handed over to a cyber officer for examination, which revealed the extensive collection of "severe obscenity" material, including sexual documentation of minors. The IPS stated that possessing these materials violated the restrictions imposed on the individual as part of his supervision order. The suspect was arrested and transferred to the Ashkelon police station for further investigation.

This incident follows a similar case in April 2024, where another high-risk sex offender was arrested after officers from the same "Tzur" unit observed him picking up a 15-year-old boy and placing him in his vehicle. The 53-year-old man had allegedly rented a luxury car to attract minors. Unit officers intercepted his vehicle, called the police, and arrested him on suspicion of contacting minors.
