Maccabi Tel Aviv Loans Striker Nicolescu to Hapoel Ramat Gan
Moldovan forward Ion Nicolescu has been loaned to Hapoel Ramat Gan for the upcoming season, according to reports. The loan deal will see Nicolescu join the cup holders until the end of the season, after which he is expected to return to Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Nicolescu is currently recovering from a long-term injury and is not part of Maccabi Tel Aviv's plans. The club needs to find a solution for him to free up a spot for another foreign player before the transfer window closes in five days. Maccabi Tel Aviv was prepared to cover Nicolescu's entire salary and expressed a desire to find a humane solution for the player after his injury in December.
Nicolescu previously played for Beitar Jerusalem before joining Maccabi Tel Aviv from Heidenheim. He scored two goals in the first half of the season before his injury. The player estimates he will be fully fit around November, after the international break.
Maccabi Tel Aviv signed foreign striker Marius Noubissi last summer. Noubissi has come off the bench in the team's first three losses this season. In the most recent game, the attacking lineup included Matan Hozez, Luan Campos playing as a striker, and David Asenka.
