Hapoel Ramat Gan Inquires About Signing Striker Yoni Nikolascu
Newly promoted Hapoel Ramat Gan has approached Maccabi Tel Aviv regarding the potential signing of striker Yoni Nikolascu. Nikolascu is currently recovering from a long-term injury and is not in Maccabi Tel Aviv's plans. The club is looking to find a solution for the Moldovan forward to free up a roster spot for another foreign player before the transfer window closes in five days.
Maccabi Tel Aviv has expressed willingness to cover Nikolascu's entire salary and is seeking a humane solution for the player, who sustained an injury in December. Initially, no concrete solution was found, and the club had not ruled out freezing his contract. Nikolascu previously played for Beitar Jerusalem before joining Maccabi Tel Aviv from Hamburg.
Before his injury in December, Nikolascu scored two goals in the first half of the season. He estimates he will be fully fit around November, after the international break. Hapoel Ramat Gan signed another foreign striker, Marius Novici, in the summer. In their first three games of the season, which all resulted in losses, Novici came off the bench, while Matan Hozez, Luan Campos, and David Asenka started in the attack in the most recent match.
