Romanian Winger Rejects Maccabi Tel Aviv Offer Worth €600,000 Per Season
Maccabi Tel Aviv, seeking to strengthen its winger position, reportedly made an offer to Andrei Cordea, a player for Romanian club CFR Cluj. However, Cordea rejected the proposal, which included a salary of €600,000 per season. Nuno Alvarenga, the owner of CFR Cluj, stated that Cordea chose to remain with the club, emphasizing the player's character and desire not to leave "just for the sake of leaving." Alvarenga further claimed that Maccabi Tel Aviv had increased their offer to €1 million just before the transfer window closed, but Cordea still opted to stay.
The 27-year-old Cordea, who plays as a right winger, has scored four goals this season. Last year, he contributed 15 goals and five assists across all competitions as CFR Cluj finished third in the league and was eliminated in the qualifying playoffs for the Conference League.
Earlier, Maccabi Tel Aviv had also approached winger Morgan Boyes, but he reportedly expressed reservations about moving to Israel.
