IDF Destroys Hezbollah's Strategic Underground Network on Al-Tahir Ridge

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the completion of a large-scale operation on the Al-Tahir Ridge in southern Lebanon, during which Hezbollah's strategic underground infrastructure was destroyed. The IDF described this network as a key strategic asset for the organization.

The operation, carried out under the directive of the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, is part of Israel's efforts to enhance operational control in the security zone of southern Lebanon. The IDF claims the Al-Tahir Ridge network was developed over two decades with Iranian assistance, comprising extensive underground facilities, command posts, and infrastructure designed for prolonged Hezbollah operations from fortified positions.

According to the IDF, these facilities were intended to support Hezbollah's broader operational plans against northern Israeli communities, including a potential plan to seize villages in the Galilee. The ridge's strategic location provided Hezbollah with significant observation advantages over areas like Metula and Kiryat Shmona.

The destruction of this infrastructure now grants the IDF full operational control over the ridge, both above and below ground. The military emphasized that its forces are continuing operations beyond simply destroying the infrastructure.
