Veteran Goalkeeper Arik Yanko Joins Hapoel Ramat Gan
Hapoel Ramat Gan announced on Friday the signing of veteran goalkeeper Arik Yanko, 34, for one season with an option for an additional year. Yanko, who previously played for numerous Israeli clubs including Hapoel Tel Aviv, Hapoel Ra'anana, Maccabi Petah Tikva, Maccabi Bnei Raina, Hapoel Umm al-Fahm, Hapoel Rishon LeZion, and Maccabi Jaffa, expressed his enthusiasm.
"I am very happy to join the club. I come with a lot of energy and experience to help the team succeed this season. I am already looking forward to starting to work hard, meeting the fans, and getting started," Yanko stated. He is expected to serve as the second-choice goalkeeper behind Amit Reif, after being released from Maccabi Jaffa. Tomer Haran will become the team's third-choice goalkeeper.
In related news, Guni Naor is reportedly close to signing with the club. Hapoel Ramat Gan, a newly promoted team, has faced a challenging start to the season, suffering three losses: 2-1 against Maccabi Haifa and Hapoel Be'er Sheva, and a 4-0 defeat to Hapoel Tel Aviv.
